On graduation, she won the Drawing Prize and has maintained a professional practice of drawing ever since, leading to many portrait commissions and a career in drawing and painting. Valerie has taught drawing and painting for many years, and also exhibits her work at the New English Art Club, The Royal Academy Summer Show, and other mixed shows.
