Karen Torrisi has been hand beading profesionally for nine years. She received a Queens Trust Grant to study Haute Couture Beading and Embroidery in Paris in 1999.Her creations are internationally known and include commissioned work on the gown that Olivia Newton John wore at the Opening Ceremony of the 2000 Olympic Games; commissioned work on costumes for the films Moulin Rouge and the upcoming Star Wars II; and for the stage shows Sunset Boulevard, Chicago, My Fair Lady and Miss Saigon amongst others.
